‘‘This particular version of '“Walking Woman” fired so well! The manganese dioxide is responsible for the lovely dull gold flecks…it’s a bit of an elusive quality, present in some firings, absent in others. When it does decide to pay a visit it lends the works a rather special quality . I extended the ‘dress’ of this figure to try and get an increased flow and rush to her stride.
So as I was enjoying all these qualities, I managed to damage two of her fingers as I unpacked the kiln…some days go like that! As a result the first 2 fingers on her right hand have been restored (I have tried to photograph this as well as I can in the last 3 photographs.)
The restoration is hardly noticeable, but owing to this she is offered at a reduced price. from the usual full cost of £625.00”
