I am often asked what tools I use to make my sculptures. Over the years I’ve built up quite a selection..and probably lost even more!

Most are made form hardwoods and these I use for nearly all of my modelling. Metal ones are also useful, but leave a harder, sharper edge in clay surfaces. These are usually reserved for cutting and scoring.

They all eventually wear out, especially the wooden ones. The favourites end up getting shorter and shorter until they are not really practical to use any longer.
